San Diego · German-Style Brewery & Biergarten
Lagered slow. The German way.
An old-world German-style brewery and biergarten in San Diego. We brew classic German styles to traditional method — long cold lagering, decoction mashes, and the Reinheitsgebot purity standard — then pour them by the maß under the oaks. Pretzels, brats, communal tables, and time taken on purpose.
Die Bierliste
The classic German styles, on tap.
Six lagers and ales brewed to traditional method — pale to dark, gentle to strong. Each is poured in the proper glass and measure. Taps rotate with the season; ask your server what is freshest off the lagering tank.
-
Eichenhof Helles
4.9% ABVMunich Helles Lager
Soft, bready, gently bitter. The everyday lager Munich built its tables around — pale gold and made to drink by the liter.
-
Goldzeit Pilsner
4.8% ABVGerman Pilsner
Crisp and dry with a firm noble-hop snap. Pilsner-malt clean, finishing bitter enough to make you reach for the next sip.
-
Dunkel Nacht
5.2% ABVMunich Dunkel
Deep chestnut, smooth, faintly toasty. Decoction-mashed for that bread-crust depth without a hint of roast harshness.
-
Märzen Festbier
5.8% ABVMärzen / Oktoberfest Lager
Amber, malt-forward, balanced. Our festival lager — rich enough to celebrate with, clean enough for a second maß.
-
Weissheit Hefeweizen
5.1% ABVBavarian Hefeweizen
Hazy and unfiltered, with classic banana and clove from the open-fermented weizen yeast. Poured tall in the proper vase glass.
-
Eichenbock
6.7% ABVTraditional Bock
Dark, warming, deeply malty. A strong lager lagered the longest — sipped slow as the evening cools off.
Steins & maß — choose your measure
-
Maß (1 liter)
The full Bavarian stein pour — for the long table and the long evening.
-
Halbe (0.5 liter)

-
Stange (0.3 liter)
The slim, tall glass for the Pilsner and Kölsch-leaning pours.
-
Probierset — flight of four
Four 0.1-liter tasters, your choice. The way to meet the bierliste.
Please drink responsibly. Guests must be 21+ with valid ID to be served beer.
Der Biergarten
Long tables under the oaks.
The biergarten is the heart of it — shared benches, warm pretzels, a band on the weekend, and a maß that lasts the whole conversation. Come as you are, stay as long as you like.

Shared bench seating under the oaks, the way a biergarten is meant to be. Pull up, make room, meet your neighbors. No reservations on the open lawn — first come, first seated.
-
Pretzels, brats & the board
Warm soft pretzels with house mustard, grilled bratwurst and weisswurst, schnitzel, sauerkraut, and a cheese-and-charcuterie board built for sharing across the table.
-
Family & dog friendly
Kids welcome until evening; leashed dogs always welcome on the lawn. Soft pretzels and house root beer keep the little ones at the table while the grown-ups settle in.
-
Live music on weekends
Friday and Saturday evenings bring live music to the garden — oompah and brass through Oktoberfest, acoustic sets the rest of the year. No cover, just find a seat.
Brewed in the German tradition
Tradition is a method, not a marketing date.
We do not claim a heritage we did not earn. What we follow is the German brewing tradition itself — the purity standard, the techniques, and above all the patience. Here is what that means in practice.
- 1
Reinheitsgebot purity
We brew to the German Purity Law: water, malt, hops, and yeast — nothing else. No adjuncts, no shortcuts, no flavorings. The beer tastes of its ingredients because that is all there is.
- 2
Decoction mashing
For the Dunkel and Märzen we run a traditional decoction mash — pulling a portion of the mash, boiling it, and returning it. It is slower and more work, and it builds the deep, bready malt character those styles are known for.
- 3
Cold, patient lagering
Lager means "to store." Our lagers rest cold for weeks — the bock longest of all — so they finish smooth, clean, and rounded. You cannot hurry a lager into being one. We do not try.
